Reins of Change is dedicated to providing mental health, personal growth and educational services for people by offering a variety of programs to create positive change for children, adolescents and adults. We work with therapists, community agencies, schools, hospitals, residential treatment programs, government and military agencies, court services, families and corporations to achieve client goals. Research studies show the positive effect horses can have on people through these experiential activities. Many of our clients have found their experiences with our staff and horses to be life changing.

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, Equine Assisted Learning, Corporate Training and Development and Professional Education are the core programs at Reins of Change. Our facilitating teams include licensed therapists, equine specialists who are experts in horse behavior, and when appropriate, additional qualified specialists. Our therapists specialize with particular populations (i.e., eating disorders, ADHD, behavior disorders, depression, anxiety, etc.). As this team approach allows us to provide the highest quality services for our clients, you may be assured that each individualized program is designed to meet your needs.

Staff at Reins of Change are trained by EAGALA, the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association, and hold basic and/or advanced certifications. No other organization in the state of Illinois has staff with this level of training and experience. In addition to being the Founder and Executive Director of Reins of Change, Amy Blossom also serves on the EAGALA’s Board of Directors. Reins of Change is proud to play an active role in the international growth of this amazing field.
